OCTOBER 2009 13: Villiers-le-Bel. Four people are accused of shooting at the police and one for complicity during the riots of Villiers-le-bel in 2007, after the killing of Lakamy and Mohin. They will be tried in the highest court, their case will start in late 2009/early 2010.They risk high sentences for attempted murder of an officer. The judge, Marie-Thérèse de Givry, was also involved in the previous trial for the murders of Lakamy and Mohin: in her requisitions, she asks for the dismissal of the officers charged in the case.
SEPTEMBRE 2009 26 Lille. Riots in Vieux-Lille, after a 31 years old man had a heart attack in the wagon, while arrested. He later died in the hospital. The second night, the police surrounded the areas of Vieux -Lille. Immediately after, fires were set in parts of the city. The next night, fires were set in several different areas of the city: Lille-sud, Wattignies ou La Madeleine. Two people were arrested after the riots, with their clothes used as evidence. The defense used this arguement as well to prove their innocence… The youngest was sentensed to 4 months of prison – 3 months with probation. The oldest was sentensed to 6 months.
SEPTEMBER 2009 3 Vincennes. Three people escape from the Detention Center for immigrants after having moved some cameras away so as to force the main gate. One is caught and sent to the hospital. No details about the reason are given. In July 2008 the center is almost totaly burnt from the inside, and rebuilt 6 months later.
AUGUST 2009 13 Rennes. Two Molotov cocktails are found at the Police Headquaters. The wicks didn‘t light. Graffiti tags are found saying ‘ montreuil-Bagnolet : the police blind and kill‘ . In the town, two others are found: ‚an eye for an eye ', and ‘ Revenge Montreuil‘. During the solidarity demonstrations against the evecuation of the squat La Clinik in Montreuil, police repression is extremely violent with one person losing an eye by a flashball shot. In Bagnolet, riots rise on August 10th. Yakou Sanogo died after being chased by a police patrol car.
AUGUST 2009 8 Nantes-A dozen people, masked and armed with sticks, steal food, alchool and high-tech gadgets in the Vilnieux supermarket. Fireworks are shot against the gendarmes. In Reunion Island, a sabotage on the SFR lines cut 50 000 houses electricity during one night, in the regions of St-Benoît and Grand-Sud.
JULY 2009 29 Marseille. Auto-réduction in the supermarket of La-Belle-De-Mai. 5 arrests.
JULY 2009 17 Villiers-le-Bel. 10 people accused of throwing stones at the police during the riots on November 2007 are sentenced to prison. Seven are sent directly to prison at the end of the trial.
JULY 2009 13 Marseille. 40 people enter a Leclerc supermarket, fully masked, and steal 9000e worth of merchandise. The director says it’s supposedly linked to the arrets of 6 employers the day before, who are accused of letting several people leave the store with unpaid items. The police outside, waiting, run after the thieves, who are protected by their neighbors throwing stones.

JULY 2009 3 Beziers. Three prisoners escape the Beziers prison from the kitchen. After the police survey the area, they are caught and sent back to prison.
JUNE 2009 17 Colmar. A prisoner escape, sawing the bars of his window.
JUNE 2009 6 Villiers-Le-Bel, Cergy. Riots started after the arrival of 2 new police units, called by the socialist mayor Dominique Lefebvre. Composed of 20 cops, these police units now start to patrol the area at 5am. To welcome them in Cergy, the public electricity is suddenly cut when the patrol car passes by and attacked with stones. Trying to go back, they find themselves blocked by a fire bariccade. To escape, the pigs used their grenades. A nice idea for an ambush.
JUNE 2009 27 Tremblay-en-France. Fireworks against police. Pigs were called during the night because of the noise and fireworks. Instead of continuing to play between themselves, the youth invited the new arrivals to participate with them: shooting fireworks and motars at the police .
According to the cops, the groups were supllied the ammunition by another group, who were on scooters. That sunday, one person is arrested, surely because there were witnesses to the event.
MARCH 2009 6 In the Department of Essonne, in the suburbs of Les Ulis, several cars are burnt, an ATM is robbed, the bank set on fire with a molotovs, and the town hall attacked with stones- where the police station is, at the same time. A bullet is shot. 5 people are arrested. A few days before, Oussama finds himself in a coma ; drunk and handcuffed while arrested at Massy train station, he finishes his night at the hospital. The police says the confrontation is linked to drug trafficing…
MARCH 2009 15 Essonne, in Montgeron. Shooting against a police station, with a shotgun.
MARCH 2009 14 Yvelines, in the suburbs of Les Mureaux. 21 policemen are shot, with a gun; only 10 are injured with wounds in the stomach and legs ( according to police reports). On March 7th, the police kill one person living in this area, while driving on the highway. The police say they found masks and arms in the car. Another minor is arrested. The Police says they found 40 molotovs hidden, ready to be used.
MARCH 2009 7 Tours. About 300 people gather in the centre of the town. The meeting place has been decided on Facebook. The initial goal was to see how many people they could gather to make a free party. On this cold evening, fires were made while drinking beers, before the police sent gas. The riot finished at about 4pm. A new group was created afterwards on Facebook that called itself ‚If you also thought you were in Bagdad that night…!‘ It described itself in this way: if you also ran; if you were also afraid; if you also liked the improvised concert on the Market Place; if you also spat tear gas; if you also lost your friends for some minutes; if you also commiserated with unknown people…this group is for you!
FEBRUARY In the department of Allier, 2 people escape from the prison of Yzeure helped by an explosive system and two guards are held hostage. Christof Khider is sentenced to 30 years in 1999 for a robbery and manslaughter of a hostage; in 2007 he’s also sentenced to 15 more years for trying to escape.The second prisoner, El Hadj Top , was supposed to be released in 2020…The two escapees have yet to be caught.
JANUARY 2009 29 Drôme. Near to Garde-Adhémar, TGV lines are sabotaged. The signalisation of the trains are damaged by fire.
